The event actually happened on 27 October 2005, but here are the pictures from the big playground project that over a hundred people (including me) volunteered to build out in Sumner Park in East Point, Georgia. Among the interesting things I learned that day was in addition to that there are only 3 outdoor velodromes in the United States, one apparently is in Indianapolis, which I thought was kind of strange. But — what I thought was most interesting is that Indianapolis and Atlanta (or at least north Georgia) are both big NASCAR places and both have one of the very few outdoor velodromes. At the start of the day, there were just a bunch of holes in the ground, and by the end there was a fully loaded playground in a 1.5 foot bed of mulch.
